A good article from the Harvard Business Review’s Conversation Forum suggests that we should look to a 50-year-old theory of word of mouth marketing if we want best practice advice on how to succeed in social media.
It’s so easy in a period of rapid change to think that we should forget everything we had previously accepted about business.
The reality is more likely that the playing field is different but most of the same rules still apply.
This begs the question – what business tenets, research areas and thought leaders are providing exactly the advice needed to succeed in a social media era?
